YourCart vs Tapcart: the honest maths

Tapcart is a strong product for the brands it fits. Here's an honest, figures-first look at what it costs, where it genuinely wins, and where a £49/month all-in platform makes more sense.

Like for like: the branded app

Compare the same thing on both sides — a branded iOS and Android app for your shop.

Tapcart entry tier

$500/month

The Growth plan — Tapcart's cheapest way onto a branded app. It runs on top of your Shopify subscription, so the real bill is higher again (more below).

YourCart

£49/month

A branded iOS app, Android app and your web store, on one plan. No separate app-builder line item, no tier ladder, no per-sale fee.

That gap — $500/month for the app alone versus £49/month for the app and the store — is the whole story on price. Everything below is us showing our working so you can check it.

What Tapcart is, in one paragraph

Tapcart is a Shopify mobile-app builder. It plugs into your existing Shopify storefront and produces a branded iPhone and Android app that pulls product, customer, and order data from Shopify in real time. It supports push notifications and deep integrations with tools like Klaviyo, Gorgias, and Recharge, and gives you a block-based editor to lay out the screens. It doesn't host your storefront and it doesn't work without an active Shopify subscription underneath — Tapcart is an add-on to Shopify, and Shopify does the actual selling.

Tapcart's pricing, tier by tier (2026)

Tapcart doesn't show prices on its homepage. As of 2026 the public structure is three flat base tiers — no per-sale fee on any of them.

TierBase priceWho it's for
Growth$500/moEntry tier — block editor, real-time Shopify sync, standard integrations, push.
Scale$1,250/moCustom product-page builder, more integrations, advanced personalisation.
Enterprise+from $2,850/moUnlimited integrations, dedicated success manager, white-glove onboarding.

Historical note, for accuracy only: until 2026 Tapcart also charged a 2.5% success fee on every app sale. That fee has been dropped in favour of the higher flat base tiers above — so today the bill no longer scales with your sales, but the entry price sits at $500/month.

The real minimum Tapcart bill

Tapcart requires Shopify underneath. So the true floor isn't $500 — it's Tapcart's Growth tier plus a Shopify subscription.

Line itemCost
Tapcart Growth base$500/mo (≈£374)
Shopify Basic underneath£19/mo
Real minimum Tapcart stack≈£393/month, flat
YourCart — app + store, one bill£49/month, flat

USD→GBP at 0.748; real rates move, so treat these as indicative. Most Tapcart shops are on a Shopify tier above Basic, which pushes the real stack higher still. Both sides pay Stripe's standard card-processing fee on customer payments — identical on each side, so it cancels out of the comparison.

The costs that aren't on either pricing page

  • The Shopify subscription. Tapcart only works with Shopify. Basic is £19/month + VAT; most growing brands end up on a higher tier.
  • Apple Developer Program — $99/year. Apple's rules require a branded retail app to be published under the merchant's own Apple account, so you pay Apple directly. This is true on Tapcart and on YourCart alike — an unavoidable industry cost, not a fee either platform invents.
  • Google Play developer fee — $25 one-off. On both Tapcart and YourCart this is covered by the platform's own Play Console, so you never see a Google bill.
  • Klaviyo, Gorgias, Recharge and friends. Tapcart's headline value is its depth of integration with these tools — but each is a separate subscription on top.
  • A design agency (optional, common). Tapcart's block editor is competent but template-y; brands that want a distinctive look often pay an agency £2,000–£15,000 on top.

Where Tapcart genuinely wins

Tapcart is the category leader for a reason. If this is you, it's the right answer — and we're not trying to take that segment.

  • Integration depth. If your retention engine is Klaviyo flows triggered by in-app behaviour, Tapcart's hooks are richer than anyone else's.
  • A self-service block editor. You can lay out a competent app with no design effort. YourCart customises in Flutter code instead — more powerful, less point-and-click.
  • Support and success resourcing. A well-staffed team, and a dedicated success manager on the top tier. YourCart's support is the founder, by email — a different shape.
  • A showcase full of household-name brands. If a $50k+/month Shopify Plus brand with an in-house team is what you are, Tapcart's flat base is rounding error and the depth pays for itself.

Where YourCart fits — agenda disclosed

We make YourCart, so treat this as the biased part — and check the maths above yourself. YourCart is an all-in-one platform: the web store, the iPhone app, and the Android app come from one product, for £49/month flat. No tier ladder, no per-sale fee, no application fee on payments — you pay only Stripe's standard processing, same as any Tapcart shop pays through Shopify.

The price gap only matters because of what sits behind it: you stay the publisher of record. Your iPhone app is published under your own Apple Developer account, with your brand on the App Store — Apple's rules require that, and we build and submit it for you. Your Android app is published for you under YourCart's Play Console with your brand front and centre in the listing, the same proven model Tapcart uses to publish many merchants' apps under one developer identity. Your name, your logo, your icon on every customer's home screen — and your data, domain, customers, and Stripe relationship stay yours.

What we ask you to accept: we're a small platform, not a 17,000-app ecosystem, and staying on Shopify is a path we support rather than something we replace. Leaving Shopify is optional, not the point — the point is one branded-app-and-store bill instead of a stack of them.

Straight talk

We don't have a wall of case studies yet — YourCart opened to merchants in July 2026, so we're early and we'd rather say so than fake it. This page argues from figures and from what the product does, not from logos. When we have real merchant results to show, we'll rewrite this section around them.

The founding cohort

If YourCart is on your shortlist: we're opening a founding cohort of the first 20 paying merchants. The real prize is a direct line to the roadmap — what founding-cohort merchants ask for genuinely shapes what gets built next. On top of that, £24.50/month for 24 months (half the standard £49), and protection against future price rises after that. In exchange: a short testimonial after your first sale and a 15-minute case-study chat once you hit your fifth. No scheduled calls otherwise — just email.

£49/month — app and store, everything in.

Founding members: £24.50/month for 24 months.
