Tapcart vs Superfans vs YourCart
An honest three-way comparison for UK merchants weighing a branded mobile app. Real flat costs, where each one genuinely wins, and a decision guide — agenda disclosed, we're one of the three.
The short version
≈£393/mo
Best for a $50k+/month brand on Shopify Plus that lives in Klaviyo, Gorgias, and Recharge. Real floor: Shopify Basic + Tapcart's Growth tier, flat. No success fee (the 2.5% it once charged was dropped in 2026).
≈£767/mo
A single $1,000/month plan, still requires Shopify, and has a live-shopping feature Tapcart doesn't. No longer the cheaper option.
£49/mo
All-in-one, built in the UK: web store + branded iOS + Android apps on one plan. No per-sale fee. Smaller ecosystem, in early access. You stay the publisher of record on the App Store.
Choose by the maths and the long-term shape, not the headline. All three pay Stripe's standard card-processing fee on customer payments — identical on each side, so it cancels out.
They're not the same kind of product
Tapcart and Superfans are Shopify add-ons. They plug into your existing Shopify storefront and produce a branded native app that pulls data from Shopify in real time. They don't host your storefront and don't work without an active Shopify subscription underneath.
YourCart is an all-in-one platform. The storefront, the iPhone app, and the Android app come from one product, on one bill, on a custom domain you own. Most "Tapcart alternative" comparisons get this wrong by treating the two shapes as interchangeable. If you're deeply invested in Shopify — a custom theme, dozens of paid apps, Klaviyo flows you can't easily recreate — an add-on stays relevant and the switch is a real project. If you aren't, the all-in-one model removes a whole layer of the stack, and the cost goes with it.
Real monthly bill, head to head
Headline prices hide the Shopify subscription an add-on needs underneath. These are the real, flat bills — the same whether you sell £3k or £300k a month.
| Setup | Real monthly bill (flat) |
|---|---|
| Shopify Basic £19 + Tapcart Growth ($500 ≈ £374) | ≈£393 |
| Shopify Basic £19 + Superfans Unlimited ($1,000 ≈ £748) | ≈£767 |
| YourCart — app + store, one bill, no per-sale fee | £49 |
USD→GBP at 0.748; rates move. The full line-item breakdown is on the YourCart vs Tapcart page. Neither Tapcart nor Superfans charges a success fee any more — both are flat, but their entry prices start far higher.
Where each one genuinely wins
Tapcart
Deepest integrations (Klaviyo / Gorgias / Recharge), the most polished self-service block editor, best-resourced support, and a showcase of household-name brands. At $50k+/month on Shopify Plus with an in-house team, it's the right answer.
Superfans
Live shopping — live video sessions inside the app with tap-to-buy — is a genuine edge Tapcart doesn't match. If your category thrives on live demos (fashion drops, beauty, one-of-a-kind items) and the $1,000/month is justified by it, Superfans is the right answer.
YourCart
The whole stack — store, iPhone app, Android app — on one £49 bill, no per-sale fee, real native Flutter code rather than a no-code template, UK-built and UK-supported by a founder who replies to every email. Roughly an eighth of the Tapcart stack, flat at any volume.

On all three, the Apple Developer Program ($99/year) is enrolled and paid by you directly to Apple — Apple's rules require it for branded retail apps. The Google $25 one-off is covered by each platform's own Play Console, so you never see a Google bill.
If you're still on the fence
| If you're… | Pick |
|---|---|
| On Shopify Plus, $50k+/month, in-house team | Tapcart — the flat base is rounding error, the depth is real value. |
| On Shopify, £5k–£20k/month, want live-selling or a lower bill | Superfans if live-selling justifies the $1,000; YourCart if a flat, low, predictable bill matters more. |
| On Shopify, the bill is making you wince | YourCart — the all-in-one removes the Shopify layer entirely. |
| Not on Shopify yet (WordPress, custom, a market stall going online) | YourCart — there's nothing to migrate from. |
| Enterprise, brand-driven, need 24/7 success management | Tapcart Enterprise — we're honestly not the right shape at that segment yet. |
YourCart opened to merchants in July 2026, so we don't have case studies or a wall of logos yet — and we won't pretend otherwise. This comparison argues from figures and from what each product does. When we have real merchant results, we'll rewrite the YourCart parts around them.
£49/month — store and both apps, one bill.
Founding cohort: the first 20 merchants get a direct line to the roadmap, £24.50/month for 24 months, and protection against future price rises.
